It’s Barbara — and she’s been doing this her whole life.
Barbara Gilmore comes from a family of denturists going back to 1961 — she’s the second of three generations in the trade, with three uncles and two brothers also in the field. She’s spent 38 years crafting dentures, more than three decades of them right here in Calgary.
She still handles every step herself — from the first impression to the final fit — so the result is comfortable, natural-looking, and built to last.

What does a set of dentures cost?
Costs vary with the materials, complexity, and whether implants are involved — so an exact price needs a quick in-person look. Barbara follows the Alberta College of Denturists fee guide, so pricing is fair and transparent before any work starts. CDCP and most insurance plans help cover dentures.
How long does a new set take?
It depends on the type of denture, but we take the time to get the fit and look right rather than rushing. Most cases take just a few appointments — she’ll give you a clear timeline at your first visit.
Will my dentures look natural?
Yes — that’s the whole point. We shape and shade the teeth to suit your face, so they look like natural teeth, not “dentures.”
Will I be able to eat normally?
After a short adjustment period, yes. Start with softer foods cut small and chew on both sides — most patients are back to eating comfortably within a couple of weeks.
Do you accept emergency cases, even after hours?
Yes. Emergency denture services are available, including urgent repairs and replacements. Call as early as you can and we’ll do our best to get you seen quickly.
Do you provide implant-supported dentures?
Yes. We offer both implant-retained and implant-supported dentures for a secure hold that won’t slip.
What signs mean I might need new dentures?
Common signs include discomfort or sore spots, looseness, difficulty chewing, or dentures that look worn or aged. If any of that sounds familiar, a quick visit will tell you where you stand.
Can you repair a denture made somewhere else?
Absolutely. We repair and reline dentures no matter where they were originally made — often the same day.
How often should dentures be replaced?
Most dentures last around five to seven years, but your mouth keeps changing underneath them. A yearly check keeps the fit right and tells you when it’s time for a reline or a new set.
What are immediate (same-day) dentures?
Immediate dentures are made in advance and placed the same day your natural teeth come out — so you’re never seen without teeth. They’re fitted right after the extractions, then adjusted as your gums heal.
Can medications affect my dentures?
They can. Some prescriptions cause dry mouth, which changes how a denture grips and feels. Mention any new medications at your check-up and we’ll adjust the fit.
